Building a collaborative QGIS environment: from server deployment to real teamwork
While QGIS provides a powerful desktop GIS environment, organizing efficient teamwork around shared projects, synchronized data, and collaborative editing remains a challenge for many organizations.
This talk demonstrates how to build a fully open source collaborative GIS environment using NextGIS Web Community Edition. Starting from Docker-based deployment, we will move through QGIS project publishing and synchronization workflows to real multi-user collaboration scenarios.
The presentation will include:
– deployment of NextGIS Web Community Edition
– publishing QGIS projects and datasets
– synchronization between desktop and web environments
– collaborative editing workflows
– version history and rollback mechanisms
– conflict detection examples.
The session is aimed at GIS professionals, researchers, and organizations interested in building modern collaborative geospatial infrastructure around QGIS and open source technologies.
